Roald Dahl's Archives

I am spending the day looking through Roald Dahl's archives. he kept every scrap, draft and idea.
I think this still image, taken from the Roald Dahl film The Witches captures the filth and the fury of Roald Dahl's work. I always thought it was pretty gruesome but his first drafts are bloodier and more murderous than anything he has published.

  3. Are witches real?
They certainly are in this book when Luke and his Grandmamma go on holiday and stay at a luxury hotel they certainly weren’t expecting it to be full of witches!
Can Luke and his Grandmamma stop the witches killing every child in England?
Or will The Grand High Witch's plan go ahead?

  4. Roald Dahl is one of these people that you will always love to read.
To yourself on a cold wintry day, or to your children tucking them up in bed one cold, blustery night.

My personal favourite story from Roald Dahl is Matilda. I thind this book is refreshing and thoughtful.
